Louisiana State University
Louisiana State University is home of the "Fighting Tigers"
and their Bengal tiger mascot, Mike VI. LSU is the flagship institution of the
state of Louisiana and is one of only 30 universities nationwide holding
land-grant, sea-grant and space-grant status.
Since 1860, LSU has served the people of Louisiana, the
region, the nation, and the world through extensive, multipurpose programs
encompassing instruction, research, and public service. The University brings
in more than $150 million annually in outside research grants and contracts, a
significant factor for the Louisiana economy.
Program Highlights
Louisiana State University (LSU) offers an exciting six and
a half month program that combines academic coursework on the LSU campus in
Baton Rouge with a paid academic training at the Walt Disney World® Resort
near Orlando, Florida. Designed for exceptional international students who seek
careers in the field of international tourism, hospitality management and
business, this program enables participants to study on the LSU campus and
participate in field experiences in the local area prior to an experience on
the Disney International Program.
Program Requirements
To qualify for program admission, students must be able to
demonstrate the following qualifications:
- Successful completion of 1st (freshman) year of
university or higher
- Good academic standing in a University
- Major in tourism, recreation, hospitality,
business,management, communication, English or related field of study, as
approved
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking
English
- Recommendation of home university
